You know when your hair reaches that point when it is 50% dry shampoo, but you don’t quite want to wash it because you know that you are going to be doing a really intense sweaty work-out later that day? No? Just me? ok….
No, but really… this is a great hair style for those days. It is cute, polished and fun in my opinion. It is also very quick and not incredibly time consuming, which is great for those days when you wake up too late and are short on time.
Start with dirty hair…
Take an inch wide section from the front of your hair on one side of your part.
Step 2: Begin to dutch braid your hair. If you do not know how to do a dutch braid, here is a tutorial. Or, you can simple do a french braid. You will end the braid just behind your ear.
Step 3: Go ahead and braid the hair almost to the end and tie it with a small clear rubber band.
Step 4: Give your braid more volume by gently tugging at the outer part of each loop in the braid, one-by-one.
Step 5: Open up one braid with your fingers a few loops down from where the braid detaches your head. Stick the other braid through that hole so that the two braids are now intertwined.
Step 6: Go ahead and tie all of your hair including the tow braids and rubber bands into whatever type of messy bun you desire. And pin a few of the bottom parts of the bun to your head for more security.
Step 7: Spray some hair spray to keep those fly-aways down.
Yes, the perfect lazy/dirty hairstyle. It is also great for the summertime (or California in October when it’s still 90 degress) and really hot! Braiding does take practice, but over time your braiding skills will develop and it will get easier over time. If you have any questions, please let me know!
